Rainy Day

We spent the weekend at the lake---came back yesterday about 4 and then around 8 last night the rain started and continues.  The firework display was rescheduled for tonite---not that I was going to go---we were just going to watch what we could see from the deck.

I am having rug hooking classes at this morning and Wednesday so this will be a quick post.

Okay I am on a roll so I am going to post more pictures.  The first ones are from Caraway and feature Vicky's and Becky's dogs.  These are Becky's dogs---she did a great job!

These are Vicky's dogs---what fun we had with these dogs---Vicky and Becky were both new hookers and did a great job!

Garden Party luncheon at Marie's

Today I went to a luncheon at one of rug hooking students, Marie.  Marie started hooking with me in 2003.  She is the most prolific hooker that I know---in addition she is a talented gardener and painter.  I walked through her home today and took pictures of her rugs and her lovely garden.  It would take me a very long time to post all of them so I'll just post a few to whet your appetite...I would estimate that there around 100+ pieces.

These are just a few of her rugs---hope you enjoy them!

Oh and lunch was wonderful!!!  She is a talented cook as well.

Good morning!  I'm up early having my cup of coffee and thought I would try to get in a quick post and then go for a morning run.  It is finally cooler this morning so it will feel good to get out and run...too much food in the last two weeks!

Sheri got a good start on my Paisley on Paisley pattern.

This is Linda's long fraktur runner designed by Susan Fellers.

This is another Susan Fellers pattern adapted by Eleanor---she added one of the birds and the butterfly.

Here is part of the class hard at work---what a fun group of ladies!!!

Back from Caraway Rug School

What a great time I had in North Carolina at the Caraway Rug School.  I had a great class---thanks everyone.   It was a long two day drive home.  I spent the night in Louisville...the hotel clerk suggested a nearby Mexican restaurant since it was 9 o'clock by the time we arrived.  Here is a picture of Kate and Cheryl who followed me home.  It sure looks like they were having a great time.  We were so ready to be out of the car.

I've been busy unpacking and repacking today to leave in two weeks for a workshop for the "Loopy Ladies" in Libertyville Illinois.  

I thought I would post  a few pictures from the workshop each day this week as time allows.

Georgia was hooking this Sally Kallin pattern for her grandaughter.

Ginny's Primitive Santa---an Emma Lou Lais pattern.

A trip to Crystal King Pottery in Seagrove NC with the girls from Kansas and Missouri who were at the camp.  We were empty handed when we went in but not when we came out.
