We had an early Christmas here in Kansas celebrating with daughter Sarah the weekend before Christmas. We left Christmas eve for New Orleans to meet up with our old next door neighbors from Duncanville TX. We had a great time in New Orleans with our friends. It was cold for New Orleans but much warmer than Kansas so all is good. The French Quarter is always a lot of fun. Our flights were all on time and without incident so that was a plus.
No trip to New Orleans is complete without a trip to the Cafe du Monde
Good times with Lily!
And I had to try a Mint Julep! Yummy!
I woke up New Years morning and decided to run the 5K at the Commitment Day Run---It was quite chilly but warmed up quickly. I placed first in my age group so am off to a good start for the new year.
On Sunday I came down with something and have been laying low---and it has been so cold here.
This weekend is our hooking retreat so I have to get better soon. I have to decide what I want to work on this weekend. I already finished what I was planning to do. And I already finished my daughter's wedding rug except for a small correction that I need to make. I did not finish "mom" yet but it would not be good to work on at the retreat.
Tomorrow is open studio day so I have to clean up down there today---it is a mess!
I also went to the First Friday market last Friday and finally found the perfect ladder for the cupcake tower for Sarah's wedding.
The steps line up level with the back rungs so that I can put shelves across to hold the cupcakes.
I found these letters cut out of corrugated tin to string together for a banner
And this projector screen will make the perfect backdrop for a photo booth---and it was only $10!
Well that is it for now. I hope everyone is having a wonderful New Year!
Sounds like you have had a great start to the new year! Lots og great ideas and finds too! Feel better!!
