In hooking this I find it helpful to take three strips in the colors you have chosen and make an actual braid so that you have a visual to follow. On the long side of the chevron it is a tail, four loops, turn and come back three loops and a tail. Perhaps tomorrow I will make a drawing and take a picture of it so that I can post it---then it might make more sense but I am too brain dead tonite to do it.
